Bastards Reception

Brief Introductory Remarks by Skip Elsheimer, Marsha Gordon & Dwight Swanson
Keynote Extravaganza
Andrew Lampert – “El Adios Largos y Mas”
In 1953, author Raymond Chandler published his penultimate novel THE LONG GOODBYE.

In 1973, director Robert Altman adapted the book into a feature film starring Elliott Gould as Philip Marlowe.

In 2003, archivist/artist Andrew Lampert acquired a very special 16mm print of Altman’s film from a collector’s catalog.

In 2013, Lampert will bestow his fellow bastards with a personal account of this curious chain of sequential events. It is a 60-year saga of iterations and alterations, some fleeting and others irrevocable. A major bastard in his own right, Lampert will forsake the prescribed 5-minute time limit to explore the real mystery in this convoluted caper of reductions, reinstatements and redemption.
What the critics say:

According to Stephen Hawking, Andy Lampert’s keynote features the “Best powerpoint ever.”

“I was so hungry after seeing this inspired keynote in Hungary, I went out and ate three hotdogs.”–Errol Morris

“Andy Lampert es uno de una clase y este discurso me recuerda a una película de Douglas Sirk, seguida de un paladar de salsa de tomate y mostaza.”–
Pedro Almodovar
